Jonathan Delafield Cook
The artists chose a prize bull from the local area to be the subject of this work. The work is about scale but more importantly it is a celebration of the respect and dignity of the animal. On another level it represents a classical symbol of strength and vitality - a life giving image -and in keeping with it symbolic purpose the artist has consciously tried to present it in an icon like manner. The artist aims to make a modern image but one that is part of an ancient tradition of formal representations of the natural world.
Jonathan Delafield Cook trained at the Royal college of Art.
