Temporary Exhibitions
Dorchester Camera Club
Dorchester Camera Club was started in Dorchester in 1936. Membership numbers have hovered around 100 for the last few years.
Meeting weekly in the Brownsword Hall in Poundbury there are regular talks on a wide range of subjects related to photography. Speakers can be either members or individuals invited to come to talk about their specialised knowledge or skills. Zoom has allowed us to have speakers from all over the UK and further afield such as Auckland and New York.
The club run several competitions each year to show the abilities of members and to hone their skills. There are also a number of specialist groups to provide tuition and to help members develop their techniques.
Members are encouraged to compete in National and International competitions where the club has achieved notable successes over the years. While there is no categorisation system it would be fair to say that the club is probably one of the top 10 clubs in the UK.

We always enjoy showing work by Dorchester Camera Club. The standard is very high, and it is great to be able to engage with the local community in this way.

Your donations can be used to commission and purchase new artwork to brighten up the hospital or to fund new participatory projects with professional artists and musicians.
